Overview:
Heinsite Construction is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with experience in the construction industry, who can manage financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial health, optimizing cost management, and improving financial processes within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- repare, analyze, and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
- nsure full compliance with tax regulations, including preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other tax returns.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions efficiently.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all records and reports are audit-ready.
- Oversee payroll processing, monitor payroll costs, and provide cost analysis as required.
- Develop, implement, and improve financial policies, controls, and procedures to enhance financial efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring professional growth and compliance with best practices.
- Assist in risk management and financial forecasting to support business sustainability
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (ACCA, CIMA qualification is an adde advantage.)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a senior role.
- BICA registration is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Experience in construction accounting and cost management is highly preferred
